This May, The Lower Cape Fear Historical Society at Latimer House is putting on a special tour focusing on the women of the Latimer family and their fashion. Each room on the tour will display a range of Victorian and Edwardian garments curated from our in house textile collection. Expert docents will talk about Latimer women across several generations using clothing and photographs to tell their story. The history of wedding gowns, children’s clothing, mourning fashion, and more will be weaved into the stories of the Latimer women’s lives.
